JAZZ CONCERT SERIES
This series will emphasize the world-wide appeal and influence of our own native art form, by featuring music France, Canada, the U.S. and Brazil. The French influence will be heard in the music of Pearl Django, one of the world’s greatest jazz bands honoring the memory of France’s great gypsy jazz guitarist, Django Reinhardt. Brazilian influence to the music and rhythmic instruments will be played by the Jovino Santos Neto with a strong assist from Bellingham born Jeff Busch on many different native rhythmic instruments. Canada’s contribution to the mix will be made by Mike Allen, Miles Black and Adam Thomas who will once again be joined by Bellingham’s own, Julian MacDonough on drums. Closing the concert series will be Greta Matassa from Seattle, once again showing the American roots of the music. All of these jazz performers have web pages. You can look them up online.
