FLOOD INSURANCE WAIVERS

If you own property on Reed Lake and are currently required to buy flood insurance, you may now be eligible for a flood insurance requirement waiver.  Recently GLC worked with the Whatcom County Rivers and Floods Division to establish a documented maximum high water elevation for Reed Lake.  If you can document that your house is above this elevation, you should not be required to buy flood insurance.

For specific information about Reed Lake's high water elevation, call (360) 676-6876 or email RiverFlood@co.whatcom.wa.us
