Minimum job Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation

  • Must be 16 years old.​


  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

  • Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.

  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the club.

  • Ability to document and prepare routine paperwork.

  • Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.

  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.

  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.

  • Ability to maintain a polite, personable attitude with and around the patrons.

  • Willingness to learn how to safely check the pool chemical levels and add chemicals if needed.


  • 30 to 40 hours per week        $14.00 an hour


Job Description 


Immediate supervisor:  Operations Manager 

Job purpose: The Groundskeeper performs work in the maintenance and care of the GLC grounds which includes the operation of electrically powered and gasoline-powered grounds keeping equipment and machines, and the use of small hand and power tools or equipment in planting, cultivating, and trimming grounds and landscaping. Planting of flower boxes in the spring and cleaning of flower boxes in the fall. The Groundskeeper also performs maintenance on groundskeeping equipment and tools, and makes minor repairs (within demonstrated capability) as directed. The Groundskeeper changes light bulbs, paints walls, woodwork, furniture, and equipment, 

•    Performs tasks common to the care of grounds and landscapes by seeding, watering, mulching, fertilizing, and applying chemicals to outside plantings and lawns; pruning, trimming, and cultivating trees, shrubs, ground cover, and flowers. 
•    Performs regular and directed grounds and landscape maintenance by mowing lawns with riding or push mowers; trimming and edging around trees, shrubs, ground cover, flowers, sidewalks, and buildings; weeding, thinning, and cleaning flower beds and other grounds by hand or utilizing proper tools and equipment. 
•    Remove unsightly trash and debris from public areas by regularly inspecting grounds, for debris; raking, sweeping, and bagging leaves, debris, dirt and trash from GLC grounds, sidewalks and parking lots, and transporting the trash to designated dumpster on a weekly basis.
•    Prepare outdoor locations for use by members and visitors, as needed. If applicable, moving seating, and erecting portable canopies, movie screens or other equipment.
•    Safely operate light vehicles such as pick-up trucks, tractors, riding mowers and portable power tools and equipment such as saws, grass trimmers, leaf blowers, sprayers, and other grounds keeping equipment and wearing appropriate safety items such as goggles, gloves, or other appropriate protective clothing.
•    Ensures that grounds maintenance equipment is operational by performing routine and preventative maintenance and cleaning of tools, equipment, and machines within reasonable capabilities.
•    Perform some custodial services. 
•    Contributes to the overall success of the association by performing all other related duties as assigned.

•    Minimum of 1 years landscaping/ Planting experience
•    Have knowledge of plant species, types, where they grow well, etc.
•    Have an eye skill for making a property look beautiful and appealing
•    Spring planting
•    Fall clean up 
•    Take on special landscaping or planting projects as necessary. 
•    Skill in the proper operation and maintenance of grounds maintenance tools, equipment, and machinery is required.
•    Knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in planting, cultivating, and trimming a variety of types of trees, shrubs, ground cover flowers and grasses. 

•    Salary
$15.00 to $18.00 an hour DOE

•    Work Schedule
April through October
Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
